Guppy- Week 3

Hey Guppy Parents,

Thank you all, for helping our sweet guppies in another amazing Guppy Meet this past weekend. They are all growing in their skills so much!

This week is especially busy around the pool with a few scheduling changes with practices. We have our Big Team meeting with a few clinics this week and we need to slightly move the time of 2 of our practices. TOMORROW AFTERNOON our guppies will practice from 5:30-6 and on WEDNESDAY MORNING we will practice from 9:30-10:00.

I know that we also encouraged our swimmers that are able to swim the length of the pool unassisted to consider signing up for the Big Team Meet this Thursday. If you and your guppy have decided to do that, here are a few important reminders from Coach Kendall:

  • It is totally normal for our little swimmers to feel a bit nervous, especially at a big meet like this one! If they decide not to swim an event at the last minute, that's okay- we want this to be a positive experience.
  • Please remember that there will be no guppy helper in the water during their race. Swimmers must be able to complete their event independently.
  • We kindly ask that on one hold onto or grab the lane ropes during the race- it's important for both safety and fairness of all the swimmers.

As far as the next Guppy Meet goes, please let Coach Kendall or I know by responding to this email if your Guppy is unable to attend this weekend's home meet against Stonehaven by Wednesday.

Here is the Sign-Up for volunteers VOLUNTEER SIGN UP. We are still in need of some timers and recorders. And, as always, if you are available for set up or breakdown, we would love a few extra hands with that.

Last order of business is to let you know to put June 22nd (Sunday) at 2pm on your calendars. This will be our "End of Season Party". We will plan on having awards, yummy treats, and a fun party on the pool deck. We look forward to celebrating a successful guppy season!

Swim Fast and GO HURRICANES!
