Swim Team Newsletter Week 6

July 5th

Hello Hurricanes,

Please find attached the newsletter for this week and please read the activities for listed this week.  Coach Liz has added afternoon practices.

We also need your RSVP for the Swim Team Banquet, and for you to DECLARE if your child is swimming in Divisionals.  These 2 items are due by Wednesdsay.  You can find both of them in the 'upcoming events' on the team website.

Iron Man & Iron Chick

Iron Man and Iron Chick
Each child has the opportunity to earn this award. To qualify, each swimmer must correctly swim each of the 6 meet events (swimmers age 8 & under need complete only 5 events):

  • Short freestyle (age 10 & under, 25 meters; 11 & older, 50 meters)
  • Long freestyle (age 10 & under, 50 meters; 11 & older, 100 meters)
  • Breast Stroke
  • Back Stroke
  • Butterfly
  • Individual Medley (butterfly, back, breast, free)

    A sticker poster by the pool will help the kids to keep track of which strokes they have completed towards their Iron Man and Iron Chick goals. At the end of the year each child who accomplishes their goal will be awarded a special prize at the July season ending party.
