It's Swim Meet Day!

Happy Swim Meet Day Hurricanes!  Super excited we are hosting the Riverwalk Shockwaves.  Here is a refresher from our Parent meeting on what to bring to the meet, times to be there, and volunteering;

What to bring:

  • Tent if you have one to put up beside our team tent, tailgate chairs, snacks (not a lot of sugar), water bottles and drinks, goggles (an extra pair if they break), towel, sweatshirt(or something warm to put on when sun goes down), games/electronics to keep swimmers entertained. CASH for concessions and heat sheets.
  • Spirit Buddy gift if your child is participating.
  • Sharpies to write events on arms (spray sunscreen gets it off)

Times to be at pool – 3:30 pm is setup, 4:15 pm is warmup for swimmers, 5:15 pm volunteer check in at volunteer table to receive nametag and get to assigned job spot.

Meet Info:

  • Our team will sit under our team tent up on the grass outside the fence by the baby pool.  Swimmers will have to walk around the outside of building and down the roadside fence to come in through the gate by the diving board.  We will show swimmers how to do this.  This is a change from last year.
  • Events – Odd #s are always girls, Even #s are always boys
  • Heat Sheets are for sale at concessions and the Tent Parent will have one.
  • You can download the Swimtopia App, login with your email and password, and see all events your child is signed up for.

Meets usually last between 3.5 - 4.5 hours depending on how fast it moves.  We are planning on a pizza party after the meet and the kids can have free swim.  It is a fun time to hang out!  If you will NOT be staying for pizza, please let me know.

Looking forward to seeing everyone swim!  Let me know if you need anything.  You can send me a text through the Remind App, or an email.

Swim Fast Hurricanes!!

Best,

Lori
